The Process
  1. The basic IVF treatment involve the development of many good quality eggs by fertility drugs, monitoring of the complete cycle by means of ultrasound and different other tests, Collection of Eggs, Fertilisation of eggs outside the women’s womb in a test tube and transfer of embryos into the women’s womb.
  2. The procedure starts from certain test of blood sample to check the woman’s womb, ovaries and hormone level such as LH, FSH, Estrogen etc. then ultrasound scan to check the lining of uterus and ovaries. HIV, Hepatitis & Other infections are ruled out in both partners, A detailed semen profile is carried out.
  3. Certain fertility injections prescribed for the superovulation to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs rather than a single egg. The whole process is monitored by Doctor himself by the help of series of Ultra Sound Scans which includes monitoring the development of follicles, and lining of the uterus. The doses of fertility drugs may be changed accordingly usually 20 days injection are sufficient to produce desired response.
  4. Collection of Egg: The most common technique Vaginal Ultrasound Guided Egg Collection procedure is followed in which a fine hollow needle is inserted into the ovary through vagina under ultrasound guidance which suck out the fluid from the follicle which contains the eggs. The procedure takes not more than 30 minutes and done under mild anesthesia. After collection of egg they are placed in well prepared culture medium to examine the maturity. The eggs are then placed into an incubator for certain time before fertilization with sperm. On the same time semen sample is also collected from the male partner. The sperm is washed and keep ready for fertilization. The procedure is a day care procedure and patient goes home after 2 to 3 hours rest.
  5. After assessing the maturity of eggs the eggs are fertilized with the sperms in specially prepared culture medium and placed into incubator. After approximately 12 Hours the fertilised eggs starts division into two cells and so on. Usually after 48 to 72 hours from the collection of eggs the embryo will become ready for transfer. Grown embryos are observed for two days and best of embryos are transferred back to Uterine Cavity.
  6. In our hands, the procedure gives approximately 30 - 35% pregnancy rate per cycle which at par of international standards. Protocols are planned and made available to suit all pockets without compromising on quality and results. We are also having an unique ovum sharing programme where extra eggs can be shared with other needy patients, bringing down the cost further.
